This week's question:

Christmas in July! Someone gives you a giftcard for two books (whatever that costs). What two books will you buy?

My Answer: I have so many books on my shelf lately that I haven't read that I can't imagine buying more at the current moment lol. But I would buy a copy of Laura Kaye's newest novel, Her Forbidden Hero, and I'd also pre-order a copy of Cecy Robson's debut urban fantasy novel, Sealed with a Curse.

Second hop question: What's the ONE super-hyped book you'll NEVER read?

My Answer: This is a hard question because I can't imagine saying I'd never read any piece of fiction. I know I'm not likely to read Fifty Shades of Gray, simply because I've read other novels with BDSM that (from what I hear) are way better written than 50 Shades. I'm also not likely to read J.K Rowling's debuting adult novel. I think reading something non-Harry Potter by her would just be strange and almost ruin my image of her as an author...I have no clue why, and I know it's kind of silly. I CAN say with absolute certainty though that for non-fiction I'd never read an autobiography or a biography about a conservative jackass, such as Rush Limbaugh, or some other douche.

  1. First, can I just say that "douche" (and "douchebag") is such an excellent word?! Haha!

You're not missing much with 50 Shades- the writing sucks.

Interesting take on the JK Rowling novel... I'm the opposite though- I want to read it to see what else she is capable of... but I will probably have to keep trying to NOT think about her as the author of HP to keep her new book in perspective! :)

    1. I totally agree. Douche is an excellent, especially when used in the same sentence as Limbaugh lol.

I've heard that I'm not missing much with Fifty Shades, which is why I decided not to read it. Why waste my time on something that so many people say isn't any good, ya know? The only reason it's being bought so much is out of curiosity.

I don't think I'll be able to read the JK novel. Plus, I just really don't have much interest to. I love Harry Potter, but the adult series just doesn't sound like something I'd enjoy.

      Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Haven't read any of your gift card picks, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who chose to pre-order a book, hypothetically, of course.

    1. You should definitely check out books by Laura Kaye if you're a fan of steamy romance, and if you love romantic urban fantasy with kickass chicks and a lot of humor, you should definitely keep your eyes open for Cecy Robson's debut. I'll be having her on the blog pre-release date with an interview and review of both Sealed with a Curse and her Weird Girls novella.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Elizabeth! I think the only reason it's so hyped up is because of the BDSM mixed with the romance. People are curious because they think it's taboo. Little do many of these readers know that there are LOADS more books with BDSM which are way more scandalous than Fifty Shades. Have a great weekend!

  6. Hopping through. I very much want to read Rowling's new book although I don't think I'll like it as much as HP.

    1. Hi Alison! Thanks for stopping by again! I thought about reading it, but I just don't know what to expect so I decided against it.

      Have a great weekend!
