Happy Wednesday, everyone! Hope you're all having a great week!
Since we haven't had one in a while, I thought a WooHoo Wednesday was in store! It's always nice to recollect the good things to brighten our day a little. These are in no particular order. Here are all the things I'm grateful for this week. The things that make me want to yell woo hoo:
--My wonderful boyfriend, Jon, who is my stronghold when I need it most. He is supportive of everything I do and is always there when I need him. He's my best friend, and I couldn't ask for better. I love you, Juan-athan. ;-)
--My good friend, Britt, who has worked tirelessly on helping me edit my current manuscript, Skinwalkers. Britt, thank you for being so awesome and supportive of my work, and for putting up with my never ending "I need your opinion" Yahoo! instant messages lol.
--My mom, one of only two people who has read everything I've ever written. She's always honest about what she thinks and always gives great advice from a reader's point of view.
--I'm thankful for all the requests I've been getting for Skinwalkers. It currently has 6 partials and 2 fulls out. One of those partials turned into a request for a larger partial, and one of the previous partial requests turned into one of the two full requests. So two agents have requested more material after reading some. That's good news!
--The opportunity to post on the Romance at Random blog on Friday, July 29th! A hearty thanks to Sue Grimshaw for offering me the chance.
--My dog, Sookie, for always being by my side when I need her for both comfort and friendship.
--My critique partners. In particular, Kristin Miller, who presented me with many opportunities with both agents and editors as of late. You should check out her paranormal romance novel, Intervamption. It releases from Avon Impulse next week. I'll be posting an interview with her and a review of Intervamption on the blog soon.
So what are you thankful for this week? What good things have been going on in your life? Let us know in the comments.
Don't forget to stop back in on Friday! We'll be talking about social networking and the advantages/disadvantages of new sites like Google+. Also keep your eyes peeled for some upcoming giveaways.
Til then ;-)

Woohoo Wednesday!
Happy Wednesday, everyone! I hope you're all having a good week. I haven't been doing so well these past two weeks, but things are getting better, so I thought a Woo hoo! day was in order.
These things make me want to yell woo hoo!
--My family and friends, who are always super supportive of me.
--My dog Sookie, who is the best friend a girl could have.
--Small kindnesses. Someone who was previously insignificant in my life said something to me the other day that made all the difference. Thank you!
--I've chosen Spalding as my MFA school and will be starting there for the beginning of their Fall semester in November! And as a result of that, I'll also have a lot of writing time.
--That RWA Nationals is getting closer every day.
--That graduation and the end of this semester are almost here.
What about you? What makes you want to yell woo hoo?

Woohoo Wednesday!
Happy Wednesday, everyone! I hope you all have had a great week! I have a lot of things to yell Woo Hoo about! So I thought a Woo Hoo Wednesday would be appropriate.
This week I want to yell Woo Hoo because I'm thankful for:
--My acceptance into grad school! That's right, I am officially accepted into Spalding University's Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing program in the genres of YA fiction and general fiction! How exciting! My scores in YA were also so high that Spalding offered me a scholarship! How amazing is that?! I don't know whether I'm going there or not--it depends on what the other schools say--but definitely something to scream WOO HOO for.
--My fiance and I have officially started planning our wedding. It is tentatively set for early October. Our family and friends are all going on a Carnival cruise and we're getting married on the beach in the Bahamas!
--My great family and friends who are so supportive of me in everything I do.
--My professors, Mark Powell and Lori Snook, who wrote my letters of rec for Spalding.
--My RWA articles being reprinted in more than 5 other chapters newsletters--including two chapters in Canada!
--My new work study job in the Stetson library that is supplementing the income I lost from my hours being cut at my outside-school job.
--And last, but not least, my loving dog Sookie. She is the best furred friend a girl could ask for. I love her dearly and her non-stop adoration and love keep me going when I start to feel down.
On Friday I have a very cool announcement to make, so make sure you check back in. I apologize for deviating from my usual post schedule--things have been hectic around here, in a good way. But I promise I will try and be back on track starting now. Til Friday ;-)

Woohoo Wednesday!
Happy Wednesday, everyone! Hope you all had a great week. I thought we'd have a WooHoo Wednesday, since we haven't had one in a while. It's nice to think about what you're thankful for every once and a while.
I am thankful for:
--My wonderful fiance, David. We've been together 6 years as of today. I love you, Daveed! =D
--My family and friends, who are all very supportive of me--especially my mother and my best friend, Laura V (I have to specify, since I know four different women named Laura, two of which are both Laura K lol). You two keep me sane when no one else can.
--My critique partners who put up with my random questions, writing breakdowns, brainstorm sessions, editing requests, etc. Thank you, Lisa, Kristin and Laura Kirkland! I couldn't keep on going if it wasn't for the three of you! And also a big time thank you to my wonderful reader, Britt. She always looks over whatever I ask her to--she will be a great editor someday! You guys rock!
--I'm thankful for the full request I received from Rebecca Strauss at McIntosh and Otis yesterday. Yay! She read the query and the first three pages and then requested the whole thing. How awesome is that!
--I'm thankful that I get to attend the RWA National Conference in New York City this year! So excited!
--I'm thankful to all of my blog followers. It's nice to know people are interested in what I have to say.
--Finally, I am thankful for SPRING BREAK! WOO HOO!
What are all of you thankful for this week? I hope you have lots to be thankful for. Til Friday ;-)

Blog Button!
Happy Wednesday, everyone! As you can see from the title of this post and from the side bar, I now have a blog button! Yay!
For non-technologically savvy me, this took me a couple hours. Some of you are probably laughing right now, but hey, I'm pretty darn proud of myself. So please, grab the button and show some blogger love for Nocturnal Readings! I would be so happy if you would.
Now, in light of a disappointing rejection yesterday, I'd like to have a WooHoo Wednesday to remind myself of all the good things in my life, and hopefully, get you thinking about the good things in your life too.
These things make me say Woo hoo! this week:
--My supportive friends, my fiance, and my mom who make me feel better in the face of rejection
--Parajunkee's blogger 101 for showing me how to make the button and a ton of other cool things
--My teaching assistant position, which I'm looking forward to
--My success in keeping up my writing resolutions
--That I am the guest speaker for my local RWA chapter this month, talking about the query process
--That my Rachel Brice bellydance and yoga DVD came in the mail
--That I'm drowning in an awesome amount of books to read
So how about it, what makes you want to yell Woo Hoo! this week? Don't forget about the 250 Follower Giveaway. I will be posting an update on the contest on Friday, which you won't want to miss. Til then ;-)

Woohoo Wednesday!
Happy Wednesday, everyone! In the spirit of our friends over a Cali Cheer Mom, I'd like to talk about what we're thankful for today.
This week I'm thankful for:
--David, my family, and my friends, and my pets
--The partial request I received yesterday
--Kristin, my critique partner, over at Pararomance for her fantastic edits for TFC. She is a plot queen!
--That even though I have to work Christmas Day and New Years Day, I'm getting paid double time.
--The good deals I got when I bought everyone's Christmas presents.
--That Sookie's dog training is going well.
--That I'm fortunate enough to be able to apply for grad school (wish me luck!)
So what are you thankful for this week? Certainly with the holidays around the corner you must have a few things you're thankful for. Before you go, don't forget about the 250 Follower Challenge. It's easy and free to enter and there are cool prizes available. Go check it out!
You won't be hearing from me on Friday since it's Christmas Eve, so I hope you all have a Merry Christmas! And to those of you who don't celebrate Christmas, Happy Holidays! Til Monday ;-)

Woo hoo Wednesday!
Happy Wednesday everyone! Courtesy of our friends over at Cali Cheer Mom, we've decided to borrow their wonderful idea for Woo hoo Wednesdays!
I've had a really really crappy week. Between unjustified parking violations, loosing my job at the school newspaper because of budget cuts, and having the last straw with a once good friend, this has NOT been a very good birthday week.
So in order to remind myself of all the good things in my life, I figured a Woo Hoo Wednesday was in order. Here is what I'm thankful for:
--My family, my fiance, and my two adorable but monstrous pets
--My three closest gal pals: Laura, Lisa and Britt
--The time I've been able to spend writing this week, no matter how small
--My less stressful than usual semester
--The pancakes David made me this morning so I'd feel better
--The big statue of Buddha my mom bought me for my bday, which I put in my office
--My bellydance sisters
--The residents at my work
--That a worker at my work, who always gave me problems, quit.
--That I'm going to Arabian Nights in Orlando with my family and Laura on Friday for my bday
--That we've almost reached our 100 Follower Challenge goal
So how about you, what are you thankful for?
Don't forget the 100 Follower Challenge ends Friday! We only have ten more spots to go! I know we can do it, but we better hurry! If we get there in time, I'll draw the names via a random name generator over the weekend and the winners will be announced on Monday! Also, don't forget that for every ten followers over 100 I'll give away another book.
On Monday I'll be doing a review of Larissa Ione's Pleasure Unbound, the first book in the Demonica Series. I follow her on Twitter and see she talks with fans a lot. Too bad I can't get an interview lol. Maybe when I'm a better known blogger.
