If you had $80 to spend in books....

I'm going to make today's post all about this week's blog hop question from Crazy-for-Books. The question is:

If I gave you $80 and sent you into a bookshop right now, what would be in your basket when you finally staggered out the door?

Oh goodness! Well let's see. I'll figure this out considering that most paperbacks are $10 and most hardcovers are $20--we'll also pretend there is no tax ;-)

The first thing in my basket would be a receipt for $20 dollars saying I'd pre-ordered/reserved a hardcover copy of Sookie Stackhouse #11, Dead Reckoning by Charlainne Harris, which comes out this May. I LOVE me some Sookie and I have been craving some more Eric Northman. Yuummm.

Next would be Snow Flower and the Secret Fan and Shanghai Girls by Lisa See, both in paperback. I've been wanting to re-read Snow Flower for a while now (it's one of the most beautifully written books I've ever read) and Shanghai Girls has been on my 'want to purchase list.' Peony in Love, another one of her novels, is currently sitting on my shelf waiting to be read.=)

Next would be the first three novels of Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series. I've read Bitten, the first novel, and I LOVED it, but I would want to re-read that and then continue on with the next two books to see if I liked them. All in paperback.

So that leaves me with only one book left! Holy cow! Eighty dollars isn't nearly enough!

The next book I would buy is unknown lol. I currently have such a MASSIVE tbr pile waiting for me that I simply wouldn't know what to buy because I probably already own most of everything I want to read at this current moment haha--I seriously have over 50 books lying around that are on my reading list. About 40 of those which are brand new, never been read. Sheesh! So my final choice in this blog hop bookstore would be an author I've never heard of before. I'd like to discover someone new to read. Most likely in the urban fantasy genre.

What about you? I'd like to hear what all of you would buy. Don't forget to participate in the hop. Til Monday! ;-)

  4. Hi! New follower here, lovely blog! I really need to get on the Kelley Armstrong train, I've read most of the Sookie books (and honestly, I thought Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy was SOOO much better written, lol)

    Happy friday!

  7. Hi! Just stopping by on the Hop. I'm your newest follower.
LOVE Eric! Can't get enough of him. I really hope they end up together in both the books and the show. Because honestly, I do not like Bill...I want him to go away. Eric and Sookie are perfect together-I'd rather read about Eric than Bill anyday.
    Have a great weekend :)

  8. Ooh, Eric Northman...

    pause for drooling...

    yep, still drooling...

Okay. I think I'd buy a hard copy of The Hunger Games so I could make my BFF read it. And I've already got the new Sookie book on pre-order from Amazon, so that's out. I've heard good things about Delirium and haven't touched the Vampires Diaries books, but Damon's...oh, there goes the drool again.

    Nice post!

  9. mpyff--My favorite one is when he has amnesia too, book four! Do you watch Trueblood? That's the plot line of the next season. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Caroline--Thanks for following and thanks for stopping by! Have you read the books? I'm afraid to say anything because I don't want to give away spoilers lol. Have a great weekend!

Marie--Drooling is right! Lol! Eric is absolutely wonderful, and I LOVE The Hunger Games! It's one of my favorite series, so I definitely think that's a good choice. I've never really been a fan of the Vampire Diaries show, so I don't know if I'd like the books, but you never know. I haven't heard of Delirium; what's it about? Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

  16. Just hopping by...I started reading Bitten, but I just couldn't get into the book as much as I normally do. It wasn't what I was looking for at the moment, but I'm definitely going to finish it after I'm done with River Marked and Some Girls Bite.

Check out my TGIF post when you have a chance.
